MERI’S STORy
Today in my own training, I focus on being as well-rounded as possible and train my body in 3 areas: my muscles to move against resistance, my joints to control entire range of motion, and my heart and lungs to work as hard and as long as possible.
I’ve helped hundreds of people in group classes, semi-private and private sessions, virtual sessions, and have created programs for all kinds of people: from 9 to 5ers who’ve never exercised to retired athletes looking to get back into training to professional aerial and burlesque artists who want to get to the next level. No matter your age, background, or experience level, I want to help you become the best you can be!
I wasn’t the most active kid growing up, never played a single sport. But when I got to college I found dance and (believe it or not) circus performing. I was hooked! I spent the vast majority of my free time training, practicing, and performing different things from Fire Dancing, to Stilt-walking, and Aerial Acrobatics.
As I progressed in my circus career, injuries popped up that halted my training and stopped me from doing the things I loved. After rest and recovery I would get back into training and eventually get injured all over again, and I just couldn’t understand why I wasn’t progressing like other performers and why I kept hurting myself.
This is what lead me to become a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and a Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist. I am driven to discover the secrets of the body and how our training can influence spectacular changes in how we function, and of course to share these secrets with you and the world!
